West Ham Vs Chelsea Today 5pm
My Prediction: The Hammers 2-2 The Blues
Wow! West Ham are in the top four right now after one of their best starts to the season ever! Five wins and two draws have seen them maintain a consistent rate of success and there seems to be no stopping. Not to mention the victories have come against big clubs; namely Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool. So these guys aren’t joking around! Last weekend they beat Crystal Palace 3-1 away and to think it’s Arsenal loanee Carl Jenkinson averaging a goal a game for the Hammers. West Ham boss Slaven Bilic however, says it’s never a good time to face Chelsea; even during hard times like now. The Blues beat Aston Villa in the league last week but that isn’t saying much. Villa are having arguably their worst season ever! Midweek Jose Mourinho failed to maximum points against Dynamo Kiev; that game ending in a goalless draw. As usual he blamed the referee saying they were denied a clear penalty; but frankly he needs to move on from blaming refs. Perhaps he’s right and they were denied a penalty but Arsenal played Chelsea with 10 men because of their law-breaking Costa. So all’s fair. Sometimes the refs are to blame but this is football so move on already. Chelsea are obviously like a wounded lion but I don’t think that’s enough to get results. They lack organisation and clearly the squad is frustrated. The Hammers meanwhile are operating with no fear at all.
Arsenal Vs Everton Today 730pm
My Prediction: The Gunners 3-1 The Toffees
This should be a tough game on paper but I don’t fear Everton. The Toffees had two brilliant games this season when they scored three against champions Chelsea and three against Southampton but little did they know at the time that defeating teams like Chelsea wouldn’t be a special feat at all. Last weekend they were put back in their place by a Manchester United side who themselves lost 3-0 to Arsenal three weeks ago. So exactly what does Everton hope to achieve at the Emirates. Nothing. Arsenal are on a high following that win over Bayern Munich. If manager Arsene Wenger continues to maintain his current tactics, then the Gunners could win the league this season. It’s no longer about possession football but effective football. Bayern hogged the ball but failed to score while Arsenal took advantage of her chances. Wenger must not make the mistake of making Olivier Giroud a starter again. It’s better when he feels his position is threatened and steps up when he does come in. The boys are looking good so once again we’ll give our opposition three of the best! Just as we did against Watford last Saturday.
Manchester United Vs Manchester City 5:05pm
My Prediction: The Red Devils 1-4 The Citizens
Hey Guys, remember clocks in Europe change today so all football matches will now originally be quoted in GMT and not BST. So for us it means watching these games one hour later than usual. I saw a Man United on The Score Kenya facebook group write how United will be top of the league by Sunday evening. He imagines that Arsenal will lose to Everton and that United will smash their noisy neighbours. My take on his comment is that comedy in Kenya is widespread. Some Red Devils also described their 1-1 draw against CSKA Moscow as a great comeback! Eh? A comeback is what City did against Sevilla. From 1-0 down to win 2-1; that’s a comeback! City are playing with serious heart and their skilled players like Raheem Sterling, Wilfred Bony and Kevin de Bruyne are keeping them on top. And I haven’t even mentioned Kun Aguero! They have scored 11 goals; yes eleven goals in their last two premier league games. Six against Newcastle and five against Bournemouth! Not serious opposition but serious results in a premier league game. Man United have put all their hope on their 19-year-old sensation Anthony Martial; and while I admit he is very talented; it’s a lot to put on his young shoulders. This will be no contest; derby or not!
Liverpool Vs Southampton 7:15pm
My Prediction: The Reds 2-1 The Saints
Liverpool just need time. I believe in Jurgen Klopp and even though they drew on Thursday with Rubin Kazan in the Europa League; it’s just a matter of time before manager and players begin to gel. And when they do; there will be trouble. However Southampton are having a very similar season to Liverpool’s. They have won some key games; like their 3-1 victory over Chelsea; but they’ve also lost games they should have won; like the drubbing they got from Everton. They also just lost 3-2 to Man United so Ronald Koeman’s boys aren’t taking their challenges lying down. They’re fighting back; and Southampton are sort of known for that. Playing with spirit! The Reds have spirit too and Klopp is a motivator. It’s tough to predict this one because both teams are too equal but I’ll be biased because of the venue.
