Nobel Laureate

Wangari Maathai was the founder of the Green Belt Movement and the winner of 2004 Nobel Peace Prize. She authored four books. Wangari is internationally recognised for her persistent struggle for democracy, human rights and environment. She died on Sunday night of September 25, 2011, of complications from ovarian cancer. She was 71.
