Two hospitals in Kwale will receive medical equipment worth Sh700 million, the governor has said.

Salim Mvurya said the equipment is part of the Sh38 billion project launched in February by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Mvurya said the equipment will be taken to Kinango and Msambweni Teaching and Referral hospitals.

He spoke yesterday in Mwamandi, Kinango subcounty.

“We still want the national government to respond to queries regarding how the payments will be made for the leasing of the equipment,” Mvurya said.

He said governors want to know why they were not consulted during leasing of the machines.

The project seeks to see every county have two hospitals fully equipped with modern theatre, surgical and sterilisation, laboratory and kidney dialysis equipments.
