Siblings Salim and Sulaiman Merchant lived up to the hype during a charity event concert on Saturday night at the Aga Khan Cultural Centre, Parklands.

Organised by Contact Network International, the renowned Bollywood playback singers performed before the sold out crowd in attendance.

The duo started off singing mellow songs Marjawaan, then Ore piya which they composed for the movie Ajaa Nachle. Part way through their concert, the 2012 Indian Idol Vipul Mehta came on stage and performed two songs Fashion ka jalwa and Yeh honsla delighting the crowd. Indian playback singer Shraddha Pandit also added to the momentum and excitement of the evening.

The renditions of devotional songs the duo sang touched the audience especially Ali Maula, which was thoughtfully dedicated to those who suffered loss and injury during the Westgate attack.

With the well choreographed dancers, superb visual effects and fantastic music, it was a great party and also the perfect way to celebrate 100 years of Bollywood.
