Let me humour the Reds supporters by saying they will make their point

Liverpool Vs QPR Today 5pm

My Prediction: The Reds 1-1 Rangers

I am supposed to be focusing on the top four, of which Liverpool doesn’t subscribe, but I’ll be nice and humour Kieni Githinji and all the other Reds supporters in Kenya. Liverpool have been rubbish this week. From a draw to West Brom to a loss to Hull City, Brendan Rodgers and his squad seem to be crumbling under pressure. Yes they have some injury concerns but with Captain Fantastic in the middle of the field, what is happening? I think the exit from the FA Cup was more of a blow to Steven Gerrard than we dared imagine. And now that he has nothing left to wish for in England, his mind is already in the U.S.A. QPR have been just as rubbish as Liverpool so this might actually be a good contest. A team that is surprising still in the top five and fighting only for Europa League now vs a team fighting relegation. This will be all square.

Manchester United Vs West Brom Today 730pm

My Prediction: The Red Devils 2-1 West Brom

Manchester United really want to go ahead of Arsenal so that they can have the psychological edge over us and I believe they will. West Brom may have been fortunate to get a point out of Liverpool last weekend but Man United are reeling from that embarrassing loss to Everton and need a come-back. In fact having lost two games in a row I don’t think LVG is so naïve as to come with the exact same tactics in this game. He needs to take a risk on RVP in this game from the start because his first eleven appear to be unable to play when frustrated. The good news for United is that West Brom aren’t playing for anything; perhaps just a better finish than last year. They can’t enter Europe while they aren’t exactly threatened with relegation; although mathematically they can still go down. However, they aren’t one of those sides that will be expecting results at Old Trafford. My money is on an LVG recovery so that the Red Devils can temporarily go above Arsenal.

Chelsea Vs Crystal Palace Sunday 3:30pm

My Prediction: The Blues 2-2 Palace

Chelsea can win the league today but it isn’t that obvious that they will. As Crystal Palace showed Manchester City early in April, they are not one of those sides who will just roll over and play dead because they’re facing a big side. They come into this with two losses in a row but against small teams. I’m not sure why Alan Pardew makes his boys step up against big sides. I guess it’s to prove a point that he’ll reveal in future. Chelsea’s points in recent weeks have been very touch and go so Palace have a chance. They beat Leicester City convincing but only because of a brilliant second half. Otherwise they’ve been scraping three points as they did against Man United. Jose Mourinho and his troops know that they have this in the bag and that over confidence may be their undoing in this game. They would love to win the league at home but I have my money on Palace making them wait a little bit longer. All the pedigree is on the Blues side but the fighting spirit is in Pardew’s side.

Hull Vs Arsenal Monday 10pm

My Prediction: Hull 1-3 The Gunners

Dear Hull City, we aren’t Liverpool. Full stop! I should end this here but I feel like continuing. Hull are not a bad side and I remember some painful losses to them in years gone by. They have beaten Crystal Palace and Hull City in a row and that’s no mean feat, but we have won eight out of our last ten matches, one of which was a draw against the champions-in-waiting, Chelsea. Arsene Wenger however, must not slow down because it’s crunch time. By the time we play this game we’ll be fourth on the log and our goal is still to finish second, above Man United. Psychologically we must not let the fact that we are already in next seasons Champions League affect us. I believe too many Gunners have so much to prove so players like Olivier Giroud and Mesut Ozil will step up and get us the three points here. It won’t be easy, but everything is possible if only we believe. And I believe in Arsenal.
