Fans of Churchill have an overactive imagination. When they saw a post of the King of Comedy about the opening of the biggest hotel in Machakos, Gelian Hotel, they immediately assumed that it was built and owned by the Radio and TV personality.

One fan told Word Is, "That is definitely his hotel, he owns it, I know he wanted to get into the business of hospitality after conquering the comedy industry."

Called for comment, Churchill found the claims amusing. He clarified, "No, the hotel is not mine. I'm promoting it for a pal of mine whose father owns it. That is a billion bob hotel, it is not mine."

The hotel is owned by Alphonse Kioko, a resident of the county. It is a 10-storey four-star hotel with 89 rooms, 6 suites, conference, entertainment and recreational facilities.

Machakos governor launched the hotel over the weekend and branded it as a "huge investment and proof of the huge potential the county has. My county government continues to support investments in the county and I encourage more people to put up hotels to give us an edge in hospitality."

The governor and his wife together with the hotel owner took photos in one of the hotel rooms that is causing quite a furore on social media.
