Retired Nigerian President Obasanjo launches memoirs in Nairobi

Retired Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo published his memoirs My Watch, cataloguing his childhood and his rise to lead the most populous nation in Africa. They are written in three volumes; Volume One - Early Life and The Military, Volume Two - Political and Public Affairs and Volume Three - Now and Thereafter.

Kenyans were the first to sample his book outside of Nigeria as it was

launched at the Serena Hotel in Nairobi on Monday evening.

Speaking at the event, chief guest former Prime Minister Raila Odinga praised the Nigerian leader's contribution to leadership on the continent especially with his African Leadership Forum which he and Senator Anyang' Nyong'o attended.

Obasanjo was grateful for the huge turnout and urged Africans to strive to be better at all facets of life.

“Africa can be great as long as we keep doing the right things over and over,” he said.

Also in attendance were former deputy prime minister Musalia Mudavadi, Senator Moses Wetangula, Senator Nyong'o, Governor Jack Ranguma and former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth.
