Sanchez may be out but I expect other players to rise up to the occasion

Tottenham Vs Arsenal, Today 3:45pm,

My Prediction: Spurs... 1 Gunners...3

I am billing this as Arsenal’s first real test since our good form began to peak. Since we lost 2-0 to Southampton on New Year’s day, the Gunners have been on an inspirational run that has seen players like Santi Cazorla and Tomas Rosicky hit top form. Goals have been coming in from all corners and last weekend we saw even Hector Bellerin find the back of the net. I love it when Arsenal doesn’t have to rely on one source for goals. Olivier Giroud is back; I’m so glad Mesut Ozil scored last weekend because his confidence level was looking a bit low at the start of the game. In fact I told my hubby Mike that I wished Ozil would score against Villa and true to my word he scored and assisted; and his attitude changed for the better immediately! But we face a Spurs side who are also going through a great run of form. We have an equal number of wins this season although they’ve lost seven and we’ve lost five. They are, however, just two points behind us with players of their own who are shining. The youthful Harry Kane comes to mind and we must watch out for him here. The bad news for Arsenal is that Alexis Sanchez is injured for this game, but as we saw last week, other players are already rising to the occasion. This will be a tough game but I see Arsenal winning the bragging rights in North London this weekend.

Aston Villa Vs Chelsea, Today 6pm,

My Prediction: Villa.. 0 Blues...0

I was shocked to find out ahead of the Arsenal game that Aston Villa have scored less goals than any other team in England’s six tier league system this term. They’ve scored just eleven goals in 23 games and since they didn’t score against Arsenal, their goal difference is now the worst ever! Villa lacked spark or any form of organisation against Gunners and now they face the league leaders. Chelsea may have lost two weeks ago to Bradford in the FA Cup but they came back to draw with their only real challenge for the league title, Man City. I was a little shocked at that result as I expected Chelsea to win; but I guess City knew that if they did; they would lose one grip on potentially defending their title. I don’t, however, believe that Villa will be any competition for Chelsea, but then again, I didn’t think Bradford could beat them. With Cesc Fabregas still out, I’m actually going to go wild here and believe that Villa can leave with a point, albeit, not score.

Everton Vs Liverpool ,Today 8:30pm

My Prediction: Toffees.. 1 Reds....3

The Merseyside derby is always a joy to watch although Liverpool have dominated in recent years. Earlier this season, it ended as most derbies do; in a 1-1 draw. Liverpool are having a better season that Everton. They are 12 points clear of their rivals who sit in 12th, while Brendan Rodgers is celebrating the return of his main marksman, Daniel Sturridge, who returned last weekend to score in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over West Ham. Raheem Sterling is also providing the much needed boost to the team, outrunning defenses and getting goals of his own. Everton are so lethargic this term although they did just manage to squeeze a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace last weekend. Manager Roberto Martinez is predicting that there’ll be many goals scored by both teams in this game and we all know that the Toffees can score big when they are at their best, but I don’t think they’ve been at their best just yet this season. I’m giving this one to the Reds, and it’s not just because my cost host Liverpudian Kieni Githinji is big and mean-looking, it’s because I really trust that they got this!

West Ham Vs Man United, Tomorrow 7:15pm,

My Prediction: Hammers..2 Red Devils...2

West Ham along with Southampton have been one of the surprise packages this season; enjoying European spots for much of the season so far. They just however fell out of the top seven last weekend when they lost to Liverpool but they still enjoy the respectable position of 8th. Manchester United have been sporadically brilliant but haven’t been all that consistent. Despite the Red Devils laughing at the Gunners at every opportunity, they are just one point ahead of us and in 3rd position. They have the hardware to win games, even silverware but they are still gelling and getting used to LVG’s weird 3-5-2 formation. With the Hammers current form this won’t be as easy and United fans may predict but it will certainly be a lively game to watch. West Ham want to play in Europa, at the very least, while United believe they can finish third; although I might add that position is threatened by us —Arsenal. Yeah, I’ve made this all about us.
