The police employer yesterday dismissed reports that a pay review was done, raising the minimum monthly pay for the lowest cadre officer to Sh32,800.
National Police Service Commission chairman Johnston Kavuludi said no new salary structure has been introduced.
“The existing salary structure in the Police Service has been in existence since October 2012,” Kavuludi said in a statement to newsrooms.
The entry salary for a police constable, the entry rank of a fresh graduate, is Sh17,190 per month.
The highest a PC can earn is Sh32,880 monthly, depending on the years of service.
Kavuludi also dismissed the reports that nine policewomen were promoted.
