Arjun Kapoor's new release Gunday has made a decent start at the box office, and the budding actor says the film is successful because he and co-star Ranveer Singh share a great bond off screen.
"We would crack each other up all the time during the shoot. Ranveer supported and encouraged me to be on the top of my game throughout the shooting. He made me give my best shot. I took back a strong friendship from this film," says Arjun.
"There was a serious sequence that wasn't falling into place because everyone was stressed out. So, Ranveer and I decided to lighten up the mood. In the middle of the shot, Ranveer started twisting my nipples and I reacted jokingly. We just created a moment for people to laugh. Ranveer ne literally meri pungi baja di!"
Gunday is only his third film, and Arjun has already shown a method streak to get into the skin of his roles. If the actor lost weight for his double role in Aurangzeb, he has conjured up a glorious six-pack for his latest.
The method actor in him will once again go for a drastic change for his next release, the rom-com 2 States, where he is paired opposite Alia Bhatt.
The actor, however, claims he loved playing the action hero in Gunday.
"We were shooting a highlight train robbery scene in extremely hot weather near Wai (in Satara, Maharashtra) with our harnesses on. It was a torturous yet memorable sequence. I also loved the Durga Puja fight sequence."
The actor will be next seen in Tevar opposite Sonakshi Sinha, and Finding Fanny Fernandes co-starring Deepika Padukone.
JUST GOOD FRIENDS? BOLLYWOOD STANDARD DIALOGUE YET AGAIN
Gossip mills are working over time, busy churning out stories about Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s alleged relationship. Every move they make is being monitored. Virat has been caught several times entering and exiting Anushka’s apartment. The duo were also spotted hand-in-hand in New Zealand taking a romantic stroll by the roadside. Despite all the evidence, the cricketer-actor duo are not ready to come clean about their alleged affair.
On the recent episode of Koffee With Karan, host Karan Johar tried his best to pull out news from Anushka, but in vain. However, this hasn’t gone down well with the cricketer. Virat is said to be upset about all the talks surrounding his relationship with Anushka — he doesn’t want anyone talking about his friendship with the actress as he wants to focus only on cricket.
Not just that. Apparently, Virat wasn’t very pleased about the way the media attacked Anushka about her lips. Virat feels that whatever Anushka has done to her lips is her private matter.
Shahrukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan to work on new project together
So it’s happening again. Shahrukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan, who were seen inBhoothnath (2008), are coming back together for its sequel. Yes, you read that right! If the recent reports are anything to go by then SRK will apparently do a cameo in the sequel of the supernatural comedy.
Those who have watched Bhoothnath must have noticed that although Big B and SRK were in the film, they were never in one frame as they didn’t share the screen space in the film. The last time they shared the silver screen was in 2006 in the film Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, which was directed by Karan Johar.
“Technically, they haven’t worked together since Karan’s film. Even though Shahrukh is doing just a special appearance in this sequel, he will be seen alongside Bachchan. The scenes will be shot either on March 6 or 7. SRK’s appearance connects the two movies,” our source told us.
RAHUL KHANNA ON AMERICAN TV
The son of Vinod Khanna, one of the most popular actors of his time — Rahul Khanna — has carved a niche for himself in Bollywood. The actor, however, seems to have switched interest to television after his last successful stint in the Indian adaptation of '24'. And now Rahul will be seen again in a pivotal role in an American TV series titled 'The Americans'.
Based on the backdrop of the Cold War during the 1980s, the series revolves around KGB (Russian) spies who pose as a married couple living in Washington DC. Rahul will be seen in the second season of the series playing the role of Yousaf, a Pakistani intelligence official who holds some important information that will prove to be in favour of the spies.
'The Americans' is created by Joseph Weisberg and stars Keri Russell, Mathew Rhys, Keidrich Sellati in prominent roles.
