As early as 4 am, gates at the Moi Stadium in Embu were opened to allow members of the public settle ahead of the celebrations.

Atleast 10,000 people will be attending  Kenya's 60th Madaraka celebrations in Embu County.

As early as 4 am, gates at the Moi Stadium in Embu were opened to allow members of the public settle down ahead of the celebrations.

This will be William Ruto's first Madaraka Day celebrations since he was sworn in as President last year.

The National Government together with Embu, has ensured that preparations for the big day were well done.

However, many Kenyans have big expectations from President Ruto on this day.

"I am a strong supporter of Kenya Kwanza and l am not against the increment of food prices but we need a source of living so as to afford basic needs and be able to pay taxes."

"I expect the president to address the issue of the high cost of living, l voted for him because he promised to take care of mama mboga and boda-boda guys.

" Also, getting proper medication is very expensive, especially for people like me that are diabetic, l expect the president to look into the matter."
