The next presidential election will be a three-horse race, Vihiga Woman Rep Beatrice Adagala has said.

The three will be Deputy President William Ruto of UDA party, Raila Odinga of ODM and OKA principal Musalia Mudavadi, she said.

The lawmaker said the 2022 presidential race has been made to look like a race between Ruto and Raila as the only possible candidates, sidelining Mudavadi.

“I want to send a clear message to them that those undermining Mudavadi will be in for a rude shock come the 2022 general election,” Adagala said.

“We have heard enough propaganda from the ODM camp and they should focus on their campaign now and stop selling fear to Kenyans,” she added.

The lawmaker was speaking to the press at her home in Sabatia subcounty where she was meeting delegations from across the county.

She said OKA chiefs will not succumb to pressure to support any other candidate as it is claimed by in the media that the President is pushing them to support Raila.

Adagala said they have supported the ODM party leader for so many years and it's time for the party to stand behind Mudavadi.

“We are sure of a Mudavadi presidency and it's time Raila comes out and supports him,” she said.

The lawmaker said OKA is focusing on building Kenya’s economy that is ailing and not merely giving empty promises to citizens.

Adagala said many Kenyans are suffering due to the high cost of living. She urged those seeking elective positions to come up with realistic promises that will revive the economy.

She backed Governor Wilber Ottichilo sentiments who had decried poor policies for youths in the country that have held them captive to poverty.

“About 65 percent of the country's population is youths and we must come up with policies that will put our youths in a better place to ensure they are able to run the economy,” she said.

Adagala urged youths to invest in agribusiness as one way to generate income and fight poverty.

"White collar jobs may not be readily available, however there is agribusiness and if you put in effort, you will reap big than even what you would earn from the white collar job."
