Nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi has urged Kenyans to elect leaders who will protect and support devolution for the benefit of all citizens.
He said in some counties, devolution has been affected by poor relationships between governors and senators.
“There must be a harmonious relationship between the governor and the senator to ensure development within their counties,” Osotsi said.
He was speaking at Ebulonga Church of God in Luanda subcounty, where he was endorsed by the community to contest for Vihiga senator.
Incumbent George Khaniri has said he will not defend his seat.
Osotsi said MCAs should focus on how funds are being utilised in those devolved units, instead of spending time on impeachment motions that do not help Kenyans
“I am appealing to MCAs who will be elected in 2022 to focus on oversight roles for the benefit of the people,” he said.
