Woman electrocuted in Kisumu while hanging clothes

A woman was on Wednesday morning electrocuted on Manyatta estate in Kisumu while hanging her clothes on a line.

Kisumu police boss Samuel Anampiu said they suspect there was an electric fault in the connection where Esther Auma was hanging her clothes.

Widower Paul Ojwang’ reported the incident to the police.

Auma was rushed to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital, where she was declared dead.

Kenya Power officers have started investigations to establish what could have transpired.

Anampiu has urged residents to conduct regular maintenance of electrical installations to avoid similar occurrences.
