Mount Elgon residents have protested against poor services at the Mount Elgon Subcounty Hospital. Last week, a woman died minutes after her baby died during childbirth. Residents accused the hospital staff of neglecting her. But hospital administrator Timothy Mikisi said Bevin Masai was attended to by the doctors and nurses on duty. He said medics discovered too late that she was anemic.
