Governor Joseph Lenku has appointed former Bungoma governor Wycliffe Wangamati to chair his newly established county investment authority.
Lenku, while unveiling the board of Kajiado investment authority on Saturday, said the county will be better enhanced if its investment opportunities are managed from a central platform by a competent team.
“In this regard, I have unveiled the board members of the Kajiado county investment authority,” he said.
Lenku said the former Bungoma governor, Wangamati, will chair the new authority.
Other members of the board of directors of the authority named by Lenku are; former nominated senator, Judy Pareno, Charles Ogada, and Joel Kanchori.
The county finance chief officer, Lekina Tutui, and trade and investment chief officer, Tonic Moraa will sit in the board meetings.
Lenku said among the key investment areas the authority will prioritise are; food security and resilience for both people and livestock, water provision for both domestic and agricultural and affordable housing such as eco-manyattas for rural communities.
