Governor Patrick ole Ntutu on Monday said some of the vehicles have mechanical problems and he has organized for NYS to repair all the broken vehicles at a cheaper price. Private mechanics cost more.

He said he has worked with the civil service before and he knows  that NYS has some of the best mechanics who wok at reasonable prices.

He made the remarks after inspecting the county's 224 vehicles at William ole Ntimama Stadium.

The vehicles were lined up with the drivers on standby, as the governor moved from vehicle to vehicle inspecting their condition.

Ntutu was accompanied by his deputy Tamalinye Koech, all the CEC members and MCAs.

“We want all county vehicles well maintained to deliver services to residents. I have spoken with the NYS Director General to provide mechanics to repair some vehicles at affordable prices,” Ntutu said.

The county boss asked the transport department to bring all moveable machinery so he knows what kinds of equipment the county owns.

“I have personally inspected all the vehicles because I want to understand what machinery we have and which we need to add so that we can deliver quality services to wananchi,” Ntutu said.

“We have inspected all the vehicles and we wanted to know the movable motor vehicles, road construction and water drilling machinery so that we know what we have and how to put them to good use," Ntutu said.

The equipment included two water drilling engines, tippers, graders and loaders bought by immediate former governor Samuel Tunai between 2017 and 2022.
