Police officers from Nakuru are set to hold a mental health sensitization campaign to help address work-related stress.

The campaign is done through a football tournament dubbed healing the boot.

It is the second time they are holding this campaign.

"Healing the Boot tournament season 2 could not have come at a better time. A moment of love, compassion and tenderness in this month of love as police officers join in a campaign on mental health and work-related stress," National Police Service tweeted.

The tournament will take place at Nakuru Show Ground with six teams set to battle each other.

"With six teams drawn together to battle it out for the next phase of the tournament, Nakuru Show Ground will definitely be a battleground of titans," added National Police Service.

Molo Police will face Naivasha Police as the debutant champions Kuresoi South lock horns with Rongai as they seek to cement their champion status.

Gilgil Police will battle it out with the in-form Kuresoi North police.

The first tournament was held on January 29, 2022, still at Nakuru Show Grounds.

The campaign was aimed at improving public-police relationship in an effort to provide people-centred policing.

"The tournament also provides a platform for interactions between officers of different ranks and files," NPS reported.

The weekend will be a tough one as all the teams work hard to get the prize.

"With all the teams eyeing for the ultimate prize, we can only expect an action-packed weekend," NPS said.
