- Mishra is among few MPs in the region who are not in Ruto’s Tanga tanga wing and are seen to be aligned to the Baringo senator.
- The MP said he would support the BBI because of the benefits it contains including strengthening devolution, national unity and ensure good leadership in the country.
Kesses MP Dr Swarrup Mishra says he supports the BBI despite his constituency being in DP William Ruto’s Uasin Gishu home county where most residents oppose the document.
Mishra also declared support for Baringo Senator Gideon Moi saying he will soon visit the area to help launch development activities.
“We don’t know who will be the president next year, so lets not discriminate on our leaders. Gideon is our son from the Kalenjin community and he will be visiting this area soon just like other leaders,” said Mishra.
He spoke at his office where he distributed free fertiliser and seeds to hundreds of families who had been unable to plant maize due to lack of the farm inputs.
Mishra is among few MPs in the region who are not in Ruto’s Tanga tanga wing and are seen to be aligned to the Baringo senator, a DP rivalry, as both seek to control politics in the region ahead of next year’s polls.
The MP said he would support the BBI because of the benefits it contains including strengthening devolution, national unity and ensure good leadership in the country.
Declaring his loyalty to President Uhuru Kenyatta, Mishra said: “He is our president and I know he cares and fights for the interest of the country.”
Mishra said his main focus as a leader is to uplight the lives of residents through development projects.
The MP has launched a series of projects in the area seeking to empower farmers through distribution of farm inputs like fertiliser, giving out dairy animals to poor families to boost their incomes and health through milk production.
Others include supply of beehives, support in fish farming and growing of cash crops and vegetables.
Youth groups in the county are supported through sports activities like football teams. Many other youth have also received tools and equipment to engage in self employment at market centres in Kesses constituency.
