Boda boda man killed in suspected love triangle in Ndhiwa

Onyango was hit with a stone after a man accused him of a love affair with his fiancée.

A 22-year-old boda boda rider was killed by a colleague after they differed over a woman at Lwanda Awiti market, Ndhiwa constituency.

Bruno Onyango was hit with stones by a suspect who accused him of engaging in a love affair with his fiancée.

  They met at the trading centre where the fracas ensued on Monday evening.

It is reported the suspect used a stone to hit Onyango on the forehead before he fell to the ground.

While the victim was on the ground, the suspect picked two stones and hit him in the stomach and on the chest.

A resident said their efforts to resuscitate the victim by doing first aid and rushing him to a nearby hospital failed to bear the fruit.

West Kwabwai location chief Joseph Makoteng’ said Onyango died as a result of severe injuries he sustained after he was hit with stones.

He said the victim died on arrival at St Camillus Hospital in Sori town, where he was transferred for further medical attention.

Makoteng said their preliminary investigation results revealed the two men had quarrelled some three weeks ago over the woman. 

He said the suspect must have been trailing his victim. 

Ndhiwa subcounty police commander Paul Rioba said the assailant disappeared after the incident.

“We are still looking for the suspect because he ran away after the incident,” Rioba said.  

The deceased's body was taken to Manyatta near Kobodo trading centre in Ndhiwa .
