Kemsa board held a meeting with the Kisumu Health County team to discuss ways to unlock the challenges that hinder the delivery of Health products and technologies.

The team led by Kisumu County Pharmacists, Emma Obegi and KEMSA Chairperson, Mary Mwadime resolved to review the areas of concern, including the outstanding debt of Sh 41 million.

This, is aimed to ensure the orders that were placed by Kisumu County are handled expeditiously.

"One of the main issues we are grappling with is the matter of having proper quantification to enable us serve you better," Mwadime said.

According to KEMSA, most of its problems are systemic and will be addressed through the reforms that were announced by the board last week.

She further reiterated on the importance of the counties to settle their debts and ensure a smooth execution of the service orders.

Obegi explained that the county is working closely with KEMSA but urged for improvement in the order fill rate so that they are able to receive the requested commodities in good time.

A representative from Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital, George Rae expressed their commitment to work with the Authority.
