A 30-year-old woman has died after being electrocuted in her Soko village home.
Pauline Adhiambo was Tuesday morning hanging her clothes on a wire in Kanyach Kachar, Homa Bay Town constituency.
Owaka Ochola, her brother-in-law, said Pauline died on the spot when she touched her clothes line that had come into contact with an electric cable.
“She has been using the wire for hanging clothes for some time. But it seems there was an electric fault in the house where one end of the wire was tied, resulting in the death,” Owaka said.
He expressed concern that electric cables in the area hang loosely.
Assistant chief of Kanyach Kachar sublocation Joyce Otieno informed the police, who removed the body from the scene.
“I have reported the matter to Homa Bay Police Station and Kenya power for investigations,” she said.
The body was moved to Homa Bay County Referral Hospital mortuary.
