Muhoroni MP Onyango Koyoo has warned against stealing relief food meant for flood and Covid-19 victims.
He said stern action will be taken against those found stealing the food.
Koyoo urged officials to work closely with his office to ensure only deserving people get the food.
More than 13,500 face masks, sanitiser and bags of rice were distributed to residents and police officers.
Interior CS Fred Matiang'i donated 8,000 masks while Agrochemical and Food Company provided sanitiser.
Koyoo thanked Matiang'i and the company for the donations, which were distributed to market vendors.
The lawmaker said the Ministry of Water and Irrigation has offered three excavators to help dredge Oroba, Ombey and Angwech rivers to control flooding.
Koyoo cautioned residents against defying government directives on preventing the spread of coronavirus.
“Let us use dialogue in the process of implementing government directives,” he said.
Muhoroni deputy county commissioner Erick Wanyonyi said boda boda riders have failed to follow government guidelines.
He said the operators continue to carry more than one passenger.
Subcounty boda boda chairperson Emmanuel Obiero dismissed the allegation, saying they comply with the measures put in place.
Obiero said they are teaching the riders about the dangers and prevention of the virus.
