A man was electrocuted on Monday evening while trimming trees in his farm in Ringa village, Rachuonyo East subcounty.
Witnesses said a branch Nicholas Opiyo, 33, had cut fell on an electric line leading to his electrocution.
The accident took place near Ringa market.
Chief inspector of police Benson Pamba, speaking on behalf of subcounty police commander Givinalis Baraza, confirmed the incident.
He advised residents to consult Kenya Power whenever they want to cut or trim trees near electric lines.
“It is only the electricity company that has the capacity to trim or fell trees in such risky situations,” Pamba said.
Police moved the body to Rachuonyo Subcounty Hospital for postmortem.
