Turkana Senator Malachy Ekal has deplored delayed voting despite arriving before 6am to cast his ballot.

Speaking to journalists after he did at Handcraft Hall in Lodwar, Turkana Central constituency, Ekal said voting did not start on time as expected by voters.

"I arrived early at the polling station to cast my vote but I had to wait till at 6.30am to vote," he said.

Ekal said the IEBC team had not prepared to open the polling station on time.

He said things were not well planned, the clerks didn't have tables, rulers and other items making it diffult for them to work as fast as they should.

He urged the voters to vote wisely and not to elect a candidate because of money.

"Do not vote for a candidate because of money; vote for a person that you think can bring better service to the people to make our country better," he said.
