KITUI The chairman of the assembly’s Committee on Agriculture and Irrigation yesterday asked the county to save the Wikithuki irrigation scheme in Tseikuru district.
Titus Kasinga (Katse ward) said the scheme is “in ruins”.
“There are no crops and farmers have abandoned their plots.”
The project was the brainchild of former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka.
“It is foolish to let it die. It is a potential breadbasket,” Kasinga said.
