Azimio coalition bags majority MP seats in Nairobi County

The Kasarani MP seat was bagged by Ronald Karauri who vied as an independent.

• Kenya Kwanza affiliated legislators elected in Nairobi all came from the United Democratic Alliance.

• IEBC is yet to announce the official results for Governor, Senator and Woman representative in Nairobi County.

The Raila Odinga-led Azimio La Umoja Coalition has won 12 of the 17 parliamentary seats in Nairobi County.

This follows a hotly contested election that saw most big names in the corridors of politics being sent home, by the electorate.

The coalition parties include; Jubilee, ODM, and Wiper , among others.

Azimio coalition MPs elected in Nairobi on ODM include; Babu Owino (Embakasi East), Jalang'o (Lang'ata), Tim Wanyonyi (Westlands), Beatrice Elachi (Dagoretti North), George Aladwa (Makadara), Tom Kajwang' (Ruaraka), Peter Orero (Kibra) and Antony Oluoch (Mathare).

Under Jubilee; Mark Mwenje (Embakasi West), Amos Mwago (Starehe), and Yusuf Hassan (Kamukunji) carried the day.

Kalonzo Wiper party retained the Embakasi South seat under incumbent Julius Mawathe.

Deputy President William Ruto-led, Kenya Kwanza affiliated legislators elected in Nairobi all came from the United Democratic Alliance.

They include; Benjamin Gathiru (Embakasi Central), Mwafrika Augustine Kamande (Roysambu), James Gakuya (Embakasi North) and John Karie (Dagoretti South).

The Kasarani MP seat was bagged by Ronald Karauri who vied as an independent.

IEBC is yet to announce the official results for Governor, Senator and Woman representative in Nairobi County.

In the Nairobi County Assembly, the Azimio coalition affiliate parties bagged seats as folows; ODM 35 seats, Jubilee 5, and Wiper 4, while  Kenya Kwanza’s UDA secured 36 seats.

Two wards including Utawala and Kwa Reuben, however, did not hold elections for assembly representatives which have been rescheduled for August 23.
