Nairobi County Governor aspirant Johnson Sakaja on Thursday assured the City's business community that his administration will not demolish markets or chase hawkers from their bases of operations.

Speaking at Ngara market, Sakaja promised to construct 20 new markets across Nairobi including the Ngara area and ensure that every trader is allocated a space, should he win the governorship race.

The incumbent Senator warned the County government officials found harassing hawkers.

"Enforcement officers have two months, after which they will be required to facilitate the small traders instead of harassing them," Sakaja said.

"We will enact policies that will offer growth opportunities and an environment suitable for business within Nairobi County," he added.

The Senator has been touring different areas of the County, meeting with different groups to discuss their problems and offer solutions.

He has been going on the tours with his deputy Njoroge Muchiri.

Sakaja urged the electorates to vote for the entire UDA lineup for the Capital.

 He endorsed Bishop Margaret Wanjiru and Nominated senator Millicent Omanga for senate and women representative seats respectively.

Sakaja was accompanied by Starehe MP aspirant Simon Mbugua and Ngara Ward MCA Chege Mwaura who is defending his seat on a UDA ticket.

Sakaja will be racing against Polycarp Igathe of Azimio la Umoja Coalition for the governor seat.
