September 15 started with a happy note for Cevin Kipkemboi. It was his birthday and he had invited four friends to celebrate with him at his Lang'ata KRA Customs estate house.
However, one of the guests - Clifford Odoyo - turned out to be not so friendly and later turned Kipkemboi's face into a boxing target, breaking one of his upper teeth, according to court papers.
For that, Odoyo was arrested and was on Wednesday charged with occasioning grievous bodily harm to Kipkemboi.
He denied the charge before Kibera senior principal magistrate Sharon Maroro, who released him on Sh200,000 bond until October 1 when the case will be mentioned.
Court papers say Kipkemboi invited four friends for the birthday party. Two left at 7pm and thereafter the accused started behaving weirdly and allegedly boxed the complainant until one of his upper teeth broke.
Kipkemboi is said to have been rescued by a security guard and the matter reported to the police who issued him with a P3 form and advised him to seek treatment.
