Ruto and a host of leaders allied to UDA will be hosted by Igembe South MP John Paul Mwirigi at Maua Stadium for a grand thanksgiving service that is slated to begin at 11 am.

Leaders expected to attend the event include; DP-elect Rigathi Gachagua, Senator Kathuri Murungi, MPs Mwirigi, Mugambi Rindikiri (Buuri), John Mutumga (Tigania West) Julius Taitumu (Igembe North) Kirima Ngushine (Imenti Central), Karambu Kailemia (Woman Rep), Linturi, former MPs Gichunge Kabeabea and Kubai Kiringo.

In a poster shared on social media by Mwirigi, all the 2022 UDA candidates will be present.

However, other elected leaders including Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza who only shifted to Kenya Kwanza after election are not in the poster.

Former Governor Kiraitu Murungi who joined Ruto after elections is also not part of the team.

The Supreme Court upheld on September 5 upheld Ruto's victory in the August 9 presidential election, after ruling on a number of petitions brought by his closest challenger Raila Odinga and other Kenyans.

The seven-Judge bench led by Chief Justice Martha Koome unanimously ruled that the petitioners did not give evidence to warrant nullification of Ruto's win.
