An MP aspirant on Saturday slapped a sitting MP for denying her a chance to address a gathering.
Beatrice Karwitha who is aspiring for North Imenti MP on a Jubilee ticket slapped North Imenti MP Rahim Dawood from the back of his head.
Dawood was slapped at Gitoro Conference where Catholic Women Association had convened for a function while he was leaving the function.
The function was also attended by ODM leader Raila Odinga’s wife Ida Odinga, Meru senator Mithika Linturi, Meru speaker Joseph Kaberia and Municipality MCA Elias Murega among others.
Dawood said Karwitha slapped her from the back after the function was concluded.
“I was given a chance to invite other leaders to speak. I was asked to only invite elected leaders and not aspirants,” Dawood said.
He said it is a shame for a woman who is aspiring for MP to do such a thing.

Dawood said he informed police of the unfortunate incident.
Municipality MCA Elias Murega also described the incident as unfortunate.
Municipality MCA Elias Murega who is also seeking the North Imenti parliamentary seat in 2022 said resident to have political tolerance.
“They should let other people let other people make their speeches uninterrupted,” Murega said.
Similar sentiments were echoed by Meru speaker Joseph Kaberia.
