A section of Ukambani leaders have urged Kenyans not to be misled by politicians who are against the BBI report due to their selfish gain.
Led by Makueni women representative Rose Museo said the BBI proposal had a lot of benefits to offer Kenyans despite some few sections which needed to be amended.
"I call upon Kenyans not to be misled by leaders who can’t show any mistake in this document. Most of those who are against this report are doing it for political supremacy", she said.
The outspoken Women Rep was speaking during the last day of the BBI signature collection exercise on Monday along Nairobi-Mombasa Highway at Malili town.
"Although this document isn’t 100 per cent correct as even us are not we can sign and wait for referendum and avoid those who are saying the signature is final”, she said.
Museo urged Kenyans not to be swayed by people who were against the proposal due to their political differences.
"Let us not be swayed by politicians who are after political mileage. We cannot reject BBI just because you don't support either President Uhuru Kenyatta or Raila Odinga, explain to Kenyans why you think the BBI proposal should be rejected", she observed.
Wiper Nominated MCA Sarah Mulwa who also graced the event urged President Uhuru and Raila Odinga not to scrap Women Rep position from The National assembly to the Senate as this will leave women in the cold.
“Though we shall be in Senate, I am pleading with our leaders not to scrap woman Rep position and if we manage to pass this document we can enjoy two seats one in national assembly and the other one in Senate”, she pleaded.
