- The chairman of Mikululo ranch, Wilson Ndulo, said a 10-year child and an elderly person were speared to death.
- Kajiado county commissioner Joshua Nkanatha told the Star he was on the way with his full security team to the troubled area.
Two people were killed and an unknown number injured in a second clash on Sunday night between herders from Kajiado and Makueni counties.
The incident happened three days after another bloody confrontation that left one person dead and six others injured in the same dispersal area along the Kajiado-Makueni boundary.
The 3am Saturday incident occurred in the Mikululo area neighbouring Chyulu National Park.
On Sunday night, raiders believed to be from Kajiado hit back again, according to members of the Makueni community.
The chairman of Mikululo ranch, Wilson Ndulo, said a 10-year child and an elderly person were speared to death in the 11pm attack.
A 21-year- old man was killed and five other people injured after fresh clashes erupted among the communities in Mikululo area along the Makueni-Kajiado border.
Makueni county commissioner Mohammed Maalim said the clashes occurred after a group of Maasai morans numbering about 30 armed with bows and arrows ambushed a rival group in Makueni county over pasture.
He said the injured were receiving treatment at Makindu subcounty hospital. Tension remained high in the area but police had been dispatched to restore order.
"We have sent a cohort of police officers to end the violence and I am also coordinating with my counterpart in Kajiado to ensure normalcy returns," Mohammed told the press in his office on Monday.
The official said the security officers had started investigations and would apprehend those behind the violence.
"The Directorate of Criminal Investigations in the area already has exhibits of the weapons used and will arrest those responsible for the heinous act," he said.
He however pointed an accusing finger at chiefs and assistant chiefs for failing to avert the attack.
"Those administrators have questions to answer for failing to share intelligence in time to stop the attacks,” Maalim said.
This is not the first time such clashes have emerged. Last year several people were killed and others injured in the same area.
