The Kalonzo Musyoka Foundation has donated food to over 200 artistes from Mwingi Central and North subcounties in Kitui.
In an event held at Mwingi Central MP Gideon Mulyungi’s residence at Kiseveni, the artistes took home food items, sanitiser and masks.
Mulyungi said the music industry has been greatly affected by the pandemic, hence they needed a lot of support to boost their resilience.
He thanked the foundation and called upon leaders countrywide to consider artists when giving out any form of aid.
The legislator said most artistes rely on live events but since gatherings are banned, they have no income.
Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka urged Ukambani residents to shun divisive politics to allow him to clinch the top seat come 2022.
His sentiments come a few days after signing a Wiper-Jubilee deal aimed at channeling developments to Ukambani.
Others in attendance included Kitui Senator Enock Wambua, Machakos Senator Boniface Kabaka, Kennedy Musyoka and Kitui MCAs among other leaders
