An Embu driver who committed suicide a day before his late brother was to be buried has been laid to rest.
Charles Kariuki Njagi committed suicide on Tuesday morning a day before his brother Gichovi Njagi, who died after a short sickness, was to be buried on Wednesday.
Family members suspected that Gichovi could have committed suicide after being overwhelmed by the death of Kariuki and after separating with his wife over domestic challenges.
Kariuki, who was a matatu driver, was on Tuesday morning found hanging from a tree on the family’s land at Ngandori West sub-location in Embu North subcounty.
Family members decided to bury both brothers on Wednesday. According to the brothers' mother, Nany Njagi, she was with her 37-year-old son up to 10pm on Monday while mourning the death of his elder brother before they separated and went to sleep.
Nancy said that on Tuesday family members found Kariuki hanging from a tree. She said Kariuki separated with his wife over domestic issues.
