The Young Hustlers Movement in Kilifi county has exuded confidence that President-elect William Ruto will fulfil his promises once sworn in.

Speaking in Kilifi on Wednesday, the group led by Walter Opinya said the county economic charters Ruto signed provides a road map of what he will prioritise once he starts his mandate as president.

“He is a man of his word. We have confidence in him and we are sure Kenya will be prosperous. His bottom-up economic model will spur development across the country,” Opinya said.

Opinya further urged Ruto to embrace the opposition for a smooth running of the nation.

Jamila Kasili, a member of the group called on Ruto to embrace the youth in his leadership.

“We congratulate him for the win and our hope is that he will bring on board the youth who stood with him during the campaigns. We expect to see ordinary people in Ruto’s government,” she said.

Jonson Wara called on Ruto to heal the nation by uniting it. Wara said for the country to thrive, people must be able to work anywhere without intimidation.

“The economy has slowed down. Some people are not sure of the security of their investments. This is why we want him to assume office and start the healing process.

The youths vowed to rally other youths to join the movement and register companies that will enable them win tenders in both national and county governments.
