Political differences are reportedly triggering disagreements between factions of Mijikenda Kaya elders ahead of the anticipated installation of Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung'aro as community spokesman.
Money and political re-alignments have been blamed for lack of unity
among the elders, who should guide Coast's most populous community.
Mijikenda Community Council of Elders secretary Vincent Mwachiro said
some elders opposing Mung'aro's installation
do so "from a monetary perspective.”
