Nyandarua Governor Daniel Waithaka has urged saccos to invest in agribusiness as the sector has a bright future.

Addressing the 40th anniversary for Tower Sacco Society in Ol Kalou town yesterday, he said agriculture is a lucrative venture.

The governor was with Co-operative Development executive Judy Mwangi and her Finance counterpart Nderi Ndiani.

The sacco chairman, James Kiiru, and CEO Gabriel Waweru were present.

Waithaka praised the sacco for rising from a small society 40 years ago to a multibillion-shilling investment with more than 34,000 members.

The society has deposits amounting to Sh4.1 billion while its assets are worth Sh548.8 million.

Waithaka said Nyandarua has large tracts of land with great potential in dairy and horticulture farming.

“As members of this society, you should invest in buying land and developing it,” he said.
