An Egyptian, Ayman Alsaid, who had gone to collect his debt from his neighbour died after being stabbed eight times after a fight between the two in Jamhuri estate.
The suspect then tried to commit suicide by slitting his throat.
Police who were called by a neighbour after she heard a commotion at Orange apartment found three people with stab wounds.
According to police and neighbours, Alsaid and his two roommates had gone to the suspect’s house and demanded to be paid their debt.
The suspect became angry and went to the kitchen, grabbed a knife and stabbed the victim while his roommate was stabbed in the thigh before turning on himself.
The two roommates were rushed to Coptic Hospital where Alsaid died while undergoing treatment. His roommate was admitted in stable condition.
Police said they intend to charge the suspect with murder once he is discharged from the hospital.
Meanwhile, a mason fell off the fifth floor of a building under construction and died in Mihango, Nairobi.
The victim was at a site when a stone that had dropped off the rooftop hit him pushing him to the ground.
He was pronounced dead on arrival at a local hospital.
Police said they are investigating the incident.
This is the latest such incident to happen in the sector in a series that have been happening in the city.
The National Construction Authority says they are investigating the incidents.
Elsewhere, two suspected thugs were shot dead in a botched robbery incident in Kikuyu and a pistol found on them.
The men were riding on a motorcycle and stealing from pedestrians when police were alerted.
Police said a third suspect managed to escape on foot.
A homemade pistol, one bullet and some of the valuables that had been stolen were recovered.
