Faulu Microfinance Bank has named Equity

Bank Uganda acting managing director Apollo Njoroge its new

chief executive.

He takes over from Charles Njuguna who has

been at the helm of the country’s second largest micro-lender

for three years.

Faulu said it is banking on Njoroge’s experience

to keep the lender, owned by UAP-Old Mutual Group, on

a growth trajectory.

“Njoroge is an experienced financial executive

with over 24 years’ experience in retail, micro, small and

medium enterprises banking across East Africa,” it said in a

statement.

Njoroge has also served at the African Banking Corporation

and I&M Bank.
