The Capital Markets Authority has been voted the most innovative regulator in Africa for 2016 by the International Finance Magazine.
The awards by the quarterly publication circulated in more than 185 countries globally promote promote and recognise innovation in the financial services sector. Special focus of the awards,launched in 2012, is on innovations which improve business performance.
CMA chief executive Paul Muthaura attributed the recognition to the authority's efforts to position Kenya’s capital markets as an investment destination of choice for domestic, regional and international fund flows.
He said the authority has been working with the wider industry to implement the 10-year Capital Markets Master Plan and development of a responsive regulatory framework.
