Kenyan traders to access larger markets through UAE's e-commerce platform

It will help create more markets for Kenyan products in and the the gulf countries.

The business community in the country is set to experience growth and contribute the growth of the country’s economy.

This is after The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Trade Center launched its extended digital e-commerce platform “Order N Get” (ONG) in the country.

According to the company the platform will act as a major gateway to shop from Dubai to the country.

It will facilitates online sales of products by  verified sellers, offer wide range of products and an end to end delivery experience for both sellers and shoppers in the UAE and the Africa region. 

According to the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), President, Richard Ngatia, the launch of the online trading platform, will be an opportunity for the Country’s business community to grow as a result of access to new international markets.

“ Africa & UAE trade partnership has been  a hallmark of growth and is poised for further growth with the launch of OrderNGet. This is an  exciting opportunity for our business community to leverage on E-commerce to access the UAE  market for improved trade ” Ngatia said.

The platform facilitates All types of businesses to sell products  online and provide customers with online shopping experience.

According to the company the initiative aims to support large- and small-scale businesses by giving them wider  market access and visibility for their products in the online marketplace.

Some of the products customers can order  include ; electronics, beauty & fragrance, home and kitchen products, baby & kid's products and fashion. 

UAE Trade  Center, Chief Executive Officer and Founder, of OrderNGet, Walid Hareb AlFalahi,said that the  platform e-connects UAE and Africa thereby facilitating  businesses to expand into new markets.

"This will help customers  sell or buy products at their convenience and under the  umbrella of open market principles in a secure transactional environment,” Hareb said.  

National Bank of Kenya (NBK) Head, MSME Banking Pithon M Mutiga, said that the platform will help bring positive impact to traders in both the export and import business.

“NBK is dedicated to support Kenya - UAE trade and is cognizant of the  fact that to achieve this, we must work with partners and players in the industry,” he said.
