Priscilla Gathungu has been appointed the new Chief Executive Officer of Java House Group.
She takes over from Derrick Van Houten who joined the Group in March 2021.
"Java House Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Priscilla Gathungu as Group Chief Executive Officer. Her career at Java spans through various leadership roles across the group," the restaurant chain said in a statement.

Gathungu, who holds a Masters in Business Administration –Strategic Leadership from Concordia University – St. Paul, started as a Human Resource Director at Java in March 2014.
After six years in HR, she served as the Commercial Director for one and a half years where she was responsible for several departments including new business development, environment health and safety and manufacturing.
She later transitioned into Divisional Managing Director Foodscape where she was in charge of setting and executing the commercial and operational strategies of the business that met or exceeded their five-year strategic plan.
It also included development and maintenance of Foodscape as an industry-leading brand while being a one-stop solution for the hotel, restaurants, and catering markets across East Africa.
