Digital lender Tala has appointed Agnes Muthoni as the new head of growth and strategy.

She is taking over from Annstella Mumbi who has been appointed interim General Manger for Tala, Kenya.

Having been licensed to operate as a digital credit provider by CBK IN Q1, Muthoni is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping Tala’s strategic direction and driving its expansion into new markets and sectors.

She is also expected to closely collaborate with a team of researchers, engineers, as well as other business professionals to identify growth opportunities, forge strategic partnerships and develop innovative solutions.

She will also be responsible for driving Tala’s strategic initiatives, fostering growth and advancing the organisation’s projections of growing three-fold over the current financial year.

Mumbi said Muthoni’s appointment marks an important milestone for the digital lender.

“Her deep understanding of the technology landscape, combined with strategic vision and leadership capabilities, make her the ideal candidate to lead our growth initiatives. Muthoni boasts of over 15 years of experience in strategy, partnerships, product and customer experience.
