A day after Nakuru governor Lee Kinyajui admonished Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua ahead of his tour of Nakuru, the UDA presidential running mate has now hit back at the Governor accusing him of failing his residents.
While on the campaign trail in Nakuru, Gachagua bawled out Governor Lee even as he asked him to account for his development record.
"Tell them why you did not repair or make new roads. Tell them why you did not get them water and why they did not receive bursaries," he added.
The Kenya Kwanza presidential running mate faulted the Governor for being focused on the ODM leader Raila Odinga's political ambitions instead of serving his people.
Gachagua exuded confidence that Senator Susan Kihika will win the governor race in August even as he asked residents to rally behind her.
At the same time, the Mathira MP warned Governor Lee against instilling fear among electorates that there will be post-election violence.
He said there will be no violence whatsoever in Nakuru or Rongai areas.
"Hakuna mtu atapigana.. Tutapiga kura ya amani na kila mtu atakaa na amani," he said.
This loosely translates to, "No one will fight. We will have peaceful elections and everyone will live in peace."
Gachagua's apparent response came after Governor Lee on Tuesday asked him to apologize to the people of Molo for the "atrocities" he committed while serving as a DO.
"During the tour, several suggestions have been raised by members of the public. Your kind consideration will be greatly appreciated. The first is a ‘public apology to the people of Molo for the commissions and omissions during his tenure as the dreaded DO."
