Some Jubilee MPs have dared their ODM counterparts to bring to Parliament  impeachment motion against Deputy President William Ruto.

The legislators vowed to shoot down any motion to remove Ruto from the Deputy President’s seat.

They claimed on Tuesday  that ODM leader Raila Odinga is eyeing Ruto’s seat and using Siaya Senator James Orengo to introduce the censure motion.

The pro-Ruto group included Ndindi Nyoro (Kiharu), Didmus Barasa (Kimilili), Sylvanus Osore (South Mugirango), Nixon Korir (Lang'ata), Kipsengret Koros (Sogwet-Soin), Benjamin Mwangi (Embakasi Central), Mathias Robi (Kuria West) and John Waluke (Sirisia).

Orengo at the weekend said he would mobilise legislators to support an impeachment motion against the DP for alleged gross misconduct. He did not explain.

“We are ready, let him bring the motion and he will know DP Ruto has people in this Parliament,” Robi said.

Nyoro said Raila has always wanted to gain power and because he cannot get it through the ballot, he wants to get it through the back door. "He is salivating for the DP seat.

Waluke said Raila has abused the good gesture President Uhuru Kenyatta extended to him when he (Uhuru) invited him to the government.

“If you want to be the president there is only one way. Present yourself to the people of Kenya. Those tactics are doomed and will not see the light of the day,” Nyoro said.

The other MPs present were Joyce Korir (Bomet MP), Gideon Keter (nominated), Caleb Kositany (Soy). Women reps Purity Ngirici (Kirinyaga) and  Cate Waruguru (Laikipia) were also present.
