Kakamega Homeboyz head coach Patrick Odhiambo has fired a warning shot at their FKF Cup quarterfinals rivals, KCB, telling them to prepare for a thorough lashing.

In an exclusive interview on Wednesday, Odhiambo said they will indefatigably hammer the bankers in the crunch do-or-die clash.

The two Kenyan Premier League clubs will flex muscles for a semi-final slot at the 8,000-capacity Police Sacco Stadium in Nairobi on Saturday.

Odhiambo reiterated his squad's desire to reclaim the title they bagged  the preceding year, where they fended off a vicious challenge to pip Tusker 1-0 in the closely contested final at Nyayo Stadium.

"Our target is to reclaim the title we won last year. We are going for nothing short of a win against KCB. We've prepared adequately to reap massively from the fixture," Odhiambo remarked.

The gaffer, however, cautioned his charges not to be complacent, noting that they would be locking horns with a well-drilled and rejuvenated side.

"KCB are in good form at the moment. Remember they held Bandari to a goalless draw in Mombasa over the weekend. It would be disastrous to underrate them," Odhiambo stated.

However, Odhiambo will have to rummage through his talent-laden squad for substitutes who can aptly fit into the shoes of the seven regulars who are down with flu.

"Seven of our key squad members are nursing severe bouts of flu but the good news is that we have reserve players who can step up for their teammates and rise to the occasion," Odhiambo remarked.

Kenya Police will flex muscles with Sofapaka at the same venue later in the day. On Sunday, SS Assad will dare Kariobangi Sharks as AFC Leopards clash with Division One side, Compel FC.
