The government has set up at least 138 camps in 18 counties to help shelter victims of the ongoing heavy rainfall which has resulted in floods.
Interior CS Kithure Kindiki said the camps are hosting 62,061 persons from 14,771 households.
He said the flood victims are being supported with food and non-food essentials until the floods subside.
The CS said the list of the actual location of the temporary shelter camps in each county has been published and is publicly displayed at the offices of assistant chiefs, chiefs, assistant county commissioners, deputy county commissioners and county commissioners.
"The National Government Administration Officers (NGAOs) countrywide under the supervision of the respective County Security Committees are continuously monitoring the situation to ensure that as many more temporary shelter points as necessary are established to accommodate affected persons," Kindiki said in a statement on Saturday.
The CS listed the areas and the number of camps set up.
Nairobi has 35 camps, Tana River 30, Kisumu 16, Garissa 11, Busia 10, Kiambu 9 and Homa Bay 8.
Migori, Kajiado and Narok have three camps each, Machakos and West Pokot two each, while Kirinyaga, Nakuru, Murang'a, Nyeri, Embu and Turkana have one camp each.

Kindiki said this is in line with President William Ruto's directive to county security committees to determine on a case-by-case basis the radius of areas requiring vacation or mandatory evacuation orders.
He said county security committees have been directed to continuously monitor other dams or water reservoirs within their respective jurisdictions which may not be presenting public safety risks at the moment but could do so in the event of more rains.
The CS further directed county security committees to collaborate with county governments and stakeholders to conduct outreach programmes to sensitise the public on disaster preparedness, evacuation procedures and emergency response measures.
He also directed them to identify and publicise assembly points for those relocating or being evacuated, reception centres at the temporary shelter camps and put in place verifiable documentation procedures for all persons hosted within each temporary shelter camp.
Kindiki wants county security committees to ensure the realisation of effective flood mitigation efforts and a coordinated response to emergencies.
"Security agencies are also directed to ensure that the relocation and evacuation of affected persons are done in good time, in an orderly manner, humanely and with full respect to the dignity of the affected persons," CS Kindiki said.
