Tusker striker Eric Kapaito says their resolve to wrap up the season on a high remains in place despite a lethargic display against Nairobi City Stars at the Police Sacco stadium on Wednesday.

The Ruaraka-based Brewers' lofty aspirations for a 12th topflight title suffered a blow, following a two-all draw against the Kawangware-based side.

However, in an interview on Friday, Kapaito restated the side's craving for a robust finish to the season, adding that they will regard each of their remaining fixtures as a final.

"We'll try to earn as many points as possible from our remaining matches. We can still win the title mathematically but it's difficult now since we have to rely on other outcomes," Kapaito remarked.

"But we must give it our all in every game. We want to ensure we are as near the top as possible. We shall take each game at a time," he added.

They have worked extensively on their finishing after noting a deficiency in their conversion rate in their last three encounters.

"We want to score as many goals as possible. We have created numerous opportunities as a squad, only to fall short in front of goal," Kapaito said.

"We've done a lot of finishing drills in training this week. We're confident going into this weekend's game."

Kapaito reckons he still stands a chance to run away with this season's Golden Boot. He has 11 goals while Gor Mahia's Benson Omalla leads the hunt with 15.

However, he is not ready to let his personal ambitions cloud what he calls the bigger picture.

"To me, the team comes first. I don't want to score when the team isn't winning. I'll keep doing my scoring work and we'll see where it takes us," Kapaito said.
