Strathmore University Blades’ coach Tony Ochieng is going for an upset against champions Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) in a tough Kenya National Basketball League clash in Mombasa.

The students, who have been on an upward trajectory with some solid performances, are convinced they can grind out results and make a top-four finish.

“My boys have improved their game by the day and are ready for the clash. We are hungry and ready to bag maximum points in Mombasa,” said Ochieng.

“I like the competition between my players.  We have posted over 70 points in all our second-leg games and we hope to maintain this momentum in the future.”

Strathmore University Swords also have a date with women champions KPA. Coach Anthony Ojukwu said they are ready for anyone.

League leaders Nairobi City Thunder, the only unbeaten side in the league, will confront the University of Nairobi Terrorists.

THe Swish will host Zetech University Sparks at the Menengai High School courts in Nakuru.

Sparks will then travel to Eldoret on Sunday, where they will take on home girls Eldonets at the Uasin Gishu Primary School courts.

The other matches on the card will see KPA and teams again welcome Nairobi sides Storms and Umoja at home in the women's and men’s ties respectively

In the city, Equity Bank Hawks will pile more misery on bottom side Kenyatta University Oryx who are yet to win any league game this season. Africa Nazarene University (ANU) Panthers confront TH3 Swish as University of Nairobi Terrorists also take on ANU Wolfpacks.
